AMRITSAR: The birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ram Dass founder of Amritsar city and 4th guru of Sikhs was celebrated with great enthusiasm and more than lakhs of devotees paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib and took a holy dip in the sacred sarovar here on Saturday.
The jaloo (an exhibition of ancient traditional Sikh jewellery was held at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Akal Takht and Gurdwara Baba Atal Sahib.
A religious diwan ( congregation) was organised at Gurdwara Manji Sahib in which several raagis dhadis and preachers recited the gurbani kirtan and thrown the light on the teachings of Guru Ram Dass ji.

The fireworks was also organised at Golden Temple after the bhog of Rehras sahib path in the evening.
Giani Raghbir Singh, Jathedar Akal Takht and head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib has congratulated the Sangat for birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji .and encouraged the Sangat to live according to Guru Sahib Ji's ideology.
He said that it is the primary duty of every Sikh to firmly guard the Sikh principles and to be a believer in Gurmat.
He appealed to the Sikh world to make the principles of Sikhism a part of practical life by inculcating the sense of humility, service and meditation in themselves while remembering the great life of Guru Sahib.
Meanwhile, President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has congratulated the devotees of Prakash Gurpurab and said that the life of the fourth Patshah Sri Guru Ramdas ji is full of service, love-devotion .There is no other example in the history of the world like the selfless service performed by Guru Sahib with true sidhak.
He did many works to flourish the plant of Sikhism and gave guidance and inspiration to the people spiritually, religiously and socially.
